Older windows are often one of the nicest features of a period property and replacing them can completely change how the building looks. In listed buildings and conservation areas there may also be restrictions on what can actually be changed.
This is where secondary glazing can work really well. The original window stays exactly where it is and we fit a second glazed unit behind it. It is a straightforward way of keeping more warmth in the room and cutting down draughts and unwanted noise from outside.
We can make units for sash windows, traditional timber windows and many unusual window shapes found in older buildings. The type of glass and the way the unit opens will depend on the window and how it is normally used.
From the outside there is very little to see. You still have the original windows and character of the building but the rooms should feel warmer, quieter and more comfortable.
